Pratt Interior Design Professor Karin Tehve will present case-studies from her book, Taste, Media and Interior Design, published by Routledge in 2023.
Based on class that she has taught in the Interior Design Department since 2009, this book explores the relationship between means of communication and representation and their impacts on the way taste has been defined since the eighteenth century.
Karin will present the chapter “Taste and Algorithms,” examining moments in Tate’s digital evolution, culminating in their commissioning of an AI artist-curator.
